I am a long-time veterinary professional (10 years providing emergency and specialty care). I'd love to walk/visit with your four-legged family member and give them a much-needed break in the morning, afternoon, and early evening. I have experience with almost every breed of canine, and I feel very confident when it comes to hanging out with even the timidest of pups (I have a very nervous nelly at home). I look forward to meeting your sweet doggo!

Hi I'm Stephanie! I'm a pet lover and dogs have always been a big part of my life. I'm working towards my degree, so having work where I can maintain a healthy lifestyle is ideal for me. Plus, days are just better around dogs! I've had 14 yrs of experience with my own dog as well as sitting for others. I can work with both shy and energetic temperaments. Young and elderly. I'm looking forward to learning about your pet's unique personality and can't wait to get to know your best friend!

Best Dog Friendly Neighborhoods in Petersburg
Kennelworth
Kennelworth
Kennelworth is a quaint suburban neighborhood bordered by Washington Street to the south and the Appomattox River to the north. It is a nice neighborhood to explore with a canine companion as there are many dog-friendly activities there. McKenzie Street Park makes for a pleasant walk through nature — the walking path will take you through the forest and past a small creek. There are also restaurants with dog-friendly outdoor tables nearby: Demolition Coffee is a great spot for a hot drink and a snack, and Ammo Brewery has an extensive list of craft beers on tap, as well as some great food!
Downtown Petersburg
Downtown Petersburg
Petersburg City Center offers a variety of choices to anyone looking for something to do with their furry friend. There are a number of parks in town where you can stretch your legs and get a breath of fresh Virginia air. Central Park on Sycamore Street is a nice spot for a stroll, and it is located right in the heart of town so you’ll have lots to do nearby. Another option is West End Park on Augusta Avenue; this is one of Petersburg’s larger parks. For a smaller, quieter park try Jefferson Street Park just south of Central Park. All of the parks require leashes.
Westbourne
Westbourne
Westbourne is the home of one of Petersburg’s greatest places for dog owners, Lee Memorial Park. This is a fantastic location for anyone who wants to experience some of the natural beauty of Virginia, as the park spans over 330 acres, 312 of which are natural, undeveloped parkland. There are multiple walking trails that you can choose from, and the park has benches, restrooms, a lake, a wildflower sanctuary and more! The park closes at midnight and opens up at 6 am, so you have basically all day to explore. Just make sure your dog stays leashed while you’re there.
Northeast Petersburg
Northeast Petersburg
The east side of town is definitely an area you’ll want to visit if you are traveling through Petersburg with your dog. There are lots of things to do there, and you might want to start out at Petersburg National Battlefield. This historic location played an important role in the Civil War, and it is now a large park where you can spend some time outside with your canine companion! There are nearly twenty miles of beautiful, well-maintained nature trails that you can walk through, with lots of shade from the surrounding forest and small creeks and streams running alongside.
Berkeley Manor
Berkeley Manor
The area south of Petersburg is known for its natural beauty. There are forests with small ponds and lakes scattered throughout providing a habitat for many different types of flora and fauna, which is why so many nature enthusiasts love to spend time in this part of the city! It is surely a location you’ll want to spend some time in, and a good place to start is Berkeley Manor Park. It is a modest-sized community park next to a large pond, and it makes for a nice short stroll. When you are done, you can head to Simona’s Pizzeria nearby, which has dog-friendly outdoor tables.
