The small seaside city of Asbury Park boasts one of the most pawsome beaches in New Jersey. The best part is, you can enjoy this puptastic area with your four-legged BFF! The city has dedicated an entire beach block to canine residents and tourists, so slap on some sunscreen and change into your barkinis—it's time for some sun, sand, and surf!
Located at the northern tip of Asbury Park Beach's mile-long shoreline, the Deal Lake Dog Beach is a furry beach bum's paradise. With sandy shores and pawrific waves, this location will surely keep Fido's tail wagging! As the only swimming spot in Asbury Park that permits puppers, the Deal Lake Dog Beach gets a lot of canine and human visitors, so make sure your pooch has good manners before you let them run loose. Don't furget to clean up after your pup; pet waste stations are scattered around the beach in case you left your clean-up bags at home. Outdoor showers can be found at all beach exits, while public restrooms are just a short walk away.
Once your pooch has romped and dog paddled to their heart's content, plop onto a beach towel to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets on the East Coast. Afterwards, head to a dog-friendly restaurant on the Asbury Park Boardwalk to cap off the day with a lovely meal.
Though dogs are welcome year-round at the Deal Lake Dog Beach, there are some impawtant rules to remember: only non-aggressive doggos who are licensed and accompanied by adults are allowed on the beach. From May 16 to September 14, you can take Fido for a stroll on the sand between 6 PM and 8:30 AM only. During the rest of the year, four-legged guests are allowed to roam the dog beach as well as the Boardwalk all day long.Â
So what are you waiting for? Experience the best of the Jersey Shore with Fido at the Deal Lake Dog Beach!
