Description

If you'd like to experience everything the San Bernardino National Forest has to offer, the Barton Flats Campground in Angelus Oaks, California is a great place to stay. Included in the campground are 51 sites, seven of which are accessible, as well as sites for trailers, RVs, and tents. You're also ideally situated to enjoy all sorts of recreational activities within the forest, and your pet can come along for your journey as long as they're on a leash.

During your stay at Barton Flats, you'll be surrounded by mature trees, and you're just a short walk away from even more excellent scenery. You can make the short walk to Jenks Lake where you can fish or picnic, and if you'd like to go boating, Big Bear Lake is less than 25 miles away. If you want to go on a hike, you have several trails to choose from. The Rio Monte Trail leads out of the campground, and it takes hikers on a 2.5-mile journey to the Rio Monte Panorama. For a shorter hike, opt for the 0.4-mile Jenks Lake Trail.

Campsites come with plenty of convenient amenities to make sure your stay is as comfortable as can be. There are bathrooms with flush toilets, drinking water, showers, and a dump site that costs $10. You'll also have a grill and a fire ring, as well as bear-safe food lockers which should always be utilized because bears are often seen in the area.

If you bring a second vehicle, you'll be subject to a $10 fee at single campsites, and a $5 fee at double sites. Each campsite can accommodate up to eight guests (including children), and reservations can be made as soon as 24 hours in advance. Guests who love their quiet time will appreciate the quiet hours enforced by the campground each night from 10 PM to 6 AM.

You and Buddy are going to have a blast exploring the San Bernardino National Forest during your stay at Barton Flats!
