Bidwell Point Park

Bidwell Point Campground is nestled on the shores of Norfork Lake in Arkansas. It is a popular seasonal camping ground in the Ozark mountains that offers 48 sites with electric hook-ups, great waterfront views, and rich recreational opportunities.

The sites are paved, with most of them being back-ins, and two being pull-thru that can handle vehicles up to 65 feet long. Large oak and pine trees provide plenty of shade on each site. The campground itself is well equipped and has drinking water, showers, and restrooms with flushing toilets. There’s a group shelter that holds up to 200 guests and comes equipped with hook-ups too. As a family friendly campground, it is also equipped with a playground and all guests have access to fire rings.

Norfork lake provides ample opportunities for recreational activities, and the boat ramp makes boat launching a breeze. The campground oversees a large swim beach where you can soak up the sun or cool down and enjoy swimming and water skiing. The lake itself is brimming with black bass, striped bass, crappie, and white bass, making it a popular fishing spot for day and night fishing. Scuba diving is another popular activity here since the bottom of the lake holds an abandoned town, and due to local folklore, that claims there are catfish in those towns the size of a small car. 

In addition to water sports, hiking is also popular – the nearby Robinson Point National Recreation Trail and the Trans-Ozark Trail provide beautiful views of the Ozarks, with the Ozark National Forest starting just south of the lake.

The campground is pet-friendly and you’re welcome to bring your dog with you. There are no mentions of restrictions but it would be wise to call ahead if you are bringing multiple dogs or have special requests. When visiting with your dog, always make sure to keep your eye on them as well as keeping the site and surrounding area clean. Don’t forget to pick up after them, too.
