If you and your pupper are looking for a pretty place to pitch your tent on Mississippi’s Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, you’d be barking mad not to consider camping at Blue Bluff Campground! Blue Bluff offers almost all the amenities a pup and their person could ask for -- you and your doggo will have access to electricity, showers, laundry facilities, and full RV hookups.
Not only that, but Blue Bluff is in a seriously peaceful spot. The campground is well-shaded by mature trees, and many sites have serene waterside views, making this an ideal camping choice for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. You don’t need to think geology rocks to appreciate the striking clay and limestone cliffs, and the nearby lock at Aberdeen Lake is a grrr-eat place to chill and watch the boats go by. The 92-site campground can get pretty busy on weekends, so it’s best to make your reservation early, particularly if you’ll need to stay at one of Blue Bluff’s accessible sites.
The picnic tables at each site are furrific for sitting and soaking in your surroundings, but there’s still some stuff to do for those who want to get a little more active! Keen anglers might want to cast a line from one of the fishing piers, as the water is full of crappie, bass, and other scaly swimming critters. Aside from some lovely, level waterside walks, Blue Bluff Recreation Area doesn’t have much to offer hound-dog hikers, but cultured canines might get a kick out of a stroll around the downtown of nearby Aberdeen, MS. Just a mile-and-a-half away from camp, the charming town’s slogan is "Historically Significant, Architecturally Magnificent". Non-furry family members might also enjoy the sports court and beach.
WiFi isn’t available at Blue Bluff, but all cellular networks should receive at least some coverage. Drinking water is provided on-site, so all you need to do is bring the waste baggies for a furrific time with your four-pawed pal at Blue Bluff Campground!
