Wallace Creek

Located just an hour outside of Memphis, Tennessee, is Wallace Creek Campgrounds. Technically in Mississippi, this is a great camping spot for travelers in the southern United States to stop for one night - or many. Wallace Creek Campgrounds offers 99 different reservable campsites that have modern hookups including electricity, water, and sewer. In the campground, visitors will also find flush toilets and showers. Picnic tables are also available for use.

With Enid Lake being one of the best fishing spots in the country, many guests come to the area just to catch fish. Enid Lake, which is almost 16,000 acres and part of a dam project for the Yocona River, is one of America's Top 19 Fishing Spots with a world record white crappie being caught there that weighed in at five pounds, three ounces. There are also annual fishing tournaments at the lake.

Surrounding the lake is a large forest that many campers, equestrians, and hikers flock to each year. Wildlife and bird watching are both common activities in the area. Trails around the campground give campers access to part of the 44,000 acres of land that the campgrounds are part of.

Since the lake is a big draw, the campgrounds offer both beach access and a boating ramp for guests to use. Swimming is allowed in the lake as well. Boating is very popular. All kinds of boating takes place on the lake, and there are designated areas for swimming to keep all guests safe.

Dogs are allowed in the camping area. It is always a good idea to keep pets on leashes while you are in the campgrounds. Owners are responsible for keeping their dogs safe, as well as keeping others safe from their dogs. Canines are welcome on the walking trails, but please, always clean up after your pupper. Don't allow your dog in the lake unless you are in an area marked as dog-friendly. If you abide by these rules, you and your furry friend are sure to have a lovely stay.
