Description

If you're on the hunt for a serene and peaceful natural escape you can share with your canine pal, Lake Lincoln State Park is just what you're looking for. Located 50-odd miles south of Jackson, Mississippi, this easily accessible park provides a host of opportunities for outdoor recreation and relaxation. But the best part of all is that it's a pet-friendly destination.

Found just off U.S. Highway 51, Lake Lincoln State Park's main attraction is undoubtedly the 550-acre lake after which it is named. A public boat ramp with a floating dock provides quick and easy access for all manner of watercraft, while there are also three fishing piers that jut out into the lake. Anglers can try their luck targeting bass, bream, channel catfish, and white perch, while those who enjoy life at a faster pace can go jet or water skiing.

A designated swimming area is set aside in the lake's cool waters for those needing to cool off during the warmer weather. This backs onto a 1.5-acre sand beach which is also popular with sunbathers.

There are plenty more attractions away from the water as well, including a leisurely nature trail, well-shaded picnic area, a beach volleyball court, and a kids' playground. Throw in the 18-hole Magnolia Cove Disc Golf Course and you've got more than enough activities to keep the whole family busy.

If you're staying the night, the pet-friendly campground offers 71 developed campsites and 14 primitive sites, some with excellent waterfront locations. Four cabins are also provided but do not welcome pets.

As always, you'll need to abide by all park rules concerning pets. These include keeping your dog on a leash of six feet or shorter and cleaning up their waste whenever necessary.

With these simple tasks taken care of, all that's left to do is explore the best this gorgeous state park has to offer.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
