You can find Bluff Creek Campground on the border of Alabama and Georgia, on Walter F. George Lake. The lake is a part of the Chattahoochee River, extending a total of 85 miles. The lake is a welcoming feature of the campground, providing visitors with access to a variety of activities.
One of the best features of the lake is its diverse fish population, making it an angler’s paradise. Fish found in the lake include hybrids, crappie, channel catfish, beams, bass, and white bass. From the campground, you can find excellent fishing locations along the shoreline. In addition to fishing, the lake is also perfect for cooling off and having fun! Swimming, boating, and watersports are common activities in the lake waters, with a boat ramp conveniently located nearby for you to access.
Taking a hike is always an option for you and your pooch. Spanish moss hangs from the towering oak trees as you walk through the dense forests surrounding the lake and campground. Enjoy the scenic views and wildlife as you explore the forests and the lake, including squirrels, rabbits, eagles, hawks, bobcats, deer, and a variety of bird species.
Dogs are welcome at the campground but must remain on-leash at all times in the recreational areas. They are free to roam on your campsite under your supervision. Unfortunately, they are not permitted in swimming areas or washroom facilities. Guide dogs are an exception, of course. Cleaning up after your dog is also mandatory.
On the campground, there are 71 sites available with water and electric hookups for you to use at your convenience. The campsite also offers a variety of amenities including drinking water, laundry facilities, a dump station, and a fish cleaning station for fishermen to enjoy! You're also welcome to use the group picnic area, but the popular location is first come, first served.
So, if you’re searching for a location to take a vacation in the Alabama or Georgia area, check out Bluff Creek Campground and take advantage of its various services and comforts. Â
