Located on the Alabama and Georgia border, on the shore of the Walter F. George Lake, the Hardridge Creek Campground is perfect for those who enjoy camping, fishing, and boating. The scenic views and natural beauty of the lake make this campground very popular.Â
The campground offers 74 sites, with the majority of them having electric and water hookups. It is maintained very well, has drinking water, flushing toilets, shower, and even laundry facilities. There’s a store within a 1-mile radius, so you can rest easily in case you forget something.Â
Those who enjoy fishing will find that the Chattahoochee River is brimming with fish, most notably channel catfish, bass, hybrids, and bream. There’s a boat ramp nearby for those who prefer to take their pooches out on the boat, making the sites easily accessible as well as being spotless. The shoreline is peppered with trees that offer some shade, but if you will be spending a few hours here, it’s not a bad idea to bring some sun protection as the shoreline offers numerous locations for bank fishing, too.
You can also enjoy swimming on the nearby sand and pebble beach. The waters are shallow and great for families and children, just make sure to bring sun protection and umbrellas. The campground is surrounded by forests full of wildlife such as deer, bobcats, hawks, eagles, songbirds, and waterfowl. Activities include wildlife watching, hunting, or simply biking or hiking.
You can bring your dog along for the fun as long as you can ensure you supervise them at all times. The campground has a strict leash policy, so keep your dog leashed, but provide ample walks to keep them happy. Also, make sure that your dog doesn’t disturb other campsites while you are walking through the campground, and clean up after them to keep the area spotless.Â
