Description
If you and your pupper are looking for a sprawling campground to enjoy nature, get to know a few friends, and explore the great outdoors, Clear Creek Campground in Alabama should be your next destination! Located in Bankhead National Forest, this campground is the biggest site on Lake Lewis Smith. The Forest itself is known for its stunning atmosphere, and its most well-known feature is the Sipsey Wilderness. Known as "The Land of a Thousand Waterfalls," the area surrounding Clear Creek Campground has abundant streams, old-growth forests, limestone bluffs and lush canyons.

As for the campsite, Clear Creek boasts sites available that are "well-shaded, private and offer views of the lake." Each site has a picnic table, a grill, and electric and water hookups, offering you all the conveniences of home while being able to spend the day in the great outdoors. In regards to amenities, there are three picnic areas within the facility that can accommodate up to 50 people. Additionally, the campground has many activities, like basketball and volleyball, horseshoes, and a playground. While the sites on the facility are available only for reservation (to stay overnight) from March to October, everything else, from the picnic areas to the playgrounds and courts, are available for use year-round.

If you and your pooch have a boat, there's also a boat launching area on site. That way, you and your furry BFF can spend the day fishing for the Kentucky Spotted Bass and Hybrid Striped Bass that the area is known for!

If you want to get offsite, Little Natural Bridge and the 19th-century Pine Torch Church are not far and are great places to check out, as is the Houston Civil War Jail. There's also hiking, biking, and canoeing trails all around the campsite that will all be a blast to explore! So, whatever your desire, whether it be jet skiing, fishing, hiking, playing volleyball, or just plain enjoying nature, the Clear Creek Campground will be you and your pup's new favorite vacation spot!
