Description

If you like to fish, you'll love camping at Cottonshed Park. This secluded facility is on the eastern banks of Millwood Lake. Enjoy the peace of the woods and water as you sleep under the stars with your special pal. There are fishing and boat docks, a boat ramp, and a playground here. Relax on a bench by the water to enjoy the scenery in the day-use area. You can also take your boat out on the water to angle for bass, catfish, and panfish.

The main recreational activity within this campsite is fishing, but you can also enjoy wandering through the woods and watching wildlife. Head up the Saline River in your watercraft or navigate the boat lanes around the fallen timbers in the lake. The land around here is flat and heavily wooded. In this habitat, you'll find a variety of birds, like bald eagles, great white pelicans, and over 300 other species. You may also see white-tail deer, armadillo, beaver, and other wildlife on land. There's a nature trail about 13.2 miles away in the White Cliffs Public Use Area on the north side of the reservoir. Hike among the ravines, ridges, and knolls by the towering chalk bluff over here.

This campground is family- and pet-friendly. Bring your pooch with you, but keep them on a leash and under control whenever they're outside. Keep them out of the shower and restroom areas. The park expects you to collect and dispose of your pet's droppings.

Cottonshed Park on Millwood Lake is a furrific place to take an outdoor vacation with your canine companion. Spend your days casting for a variety of fish. Later, you can relax by the fire ring and watch the sunset over the water. Respect the camp's quiet hours between 10 pm and 6 am. A word of caution: some alligators live in the water around here. Stay alert and safe.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
