There are flush and vault toilets, a dump station, playground, marina, and boat ramp. Swimming is allowed at this campground. The peak season is May to September. Walk-in camping is allowed from September through December. The campground is shaded by red cedar, black gum, red oak, elm, pecan and sweet gum trees. They are appreciated for their shade in the summer and beauty in the autumn. You are likely to spy deer, wild turkey, rabbits, and squirrels during your stay.Â
West of the dam is the William Carl Gardner Visitor Center that has a children's touch table, exhibits, and a replica of a forty-pound, world-record holding brown trout that was caught in Little Red River downstream from the center. The area offers many opportunities for a fisherman to try and top that fish! The Greers Ferry Lake offers choices for water sport and water play. Nearby you can rent jet skis. There are cliffs nearby that are enjoyed by day-use visitors as well as campers.Â
Pets are welcome. Always leash your pet when outside in camping areas. Owners must clean up after their pets and properly dispose of waste. Consider how the weather and activities may impact your dog and bring along supplies for your pet's needs as you are camping and recreating. Never leave your dog unattended.
