If you and your dog are looking to explore a beautiful forest surrounded by a variety of trees and wildlife, then the Devil's Fork Campground is the place for the both of you! Throughout the campground, and the forest around it, you'll find "a dense mix of red cedar, black gum, red oak, elm, pecan, and sweet gum trees", making for lots of shade and some awesome fall views. This is perfect for the three national nature trails, as well as the fitness trail, which many hikers have described as challenging, but worth it - all of which the campsite has access to. And while you're exploring, you'll be sure to see turkey, rabbits, deer, birds, and squirrels. This equals lots of new friends (or things to chase) for your pup!
If watersports are more your thing, the Devil's Fork Campground is right on the water! In fact, this campground is right on a lake within the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. It sports a boat launch, in the event that you and your pup want to go fishing, or just relax out on the water. It even has a marina, so if you don't bring your own boat, you and your pooch can rent one! All in all, when it comes to the water, Greers Ferry Lake has just about every aquatic activity on offer, making it an ideal place to bring any water-loving mutts.
As for the campsites themselves, each of the 55 sites have electric hookups, and there's also a playground and swimming area which your kids (furry or human) are sure to enjoy! So, if you're looking to spend some time in nature surrounded by a gorgeous lake, friendly wildlife, and opportunities to explore, definitely head out to Arkansas and make Devil's Fork Campground your new favorite vacation spot!
