The lake inside of Hickory Creek Campground stems from the Elm Fork of the Trinity River located in Northern Texas. There is little visibility from this location but boat ramps are available for all sorts of watercraft. The campground also sits on the Hickory Creek Arm of Lewisville Lake and is situated very close to the suburban areas of Dallas, Texas.
Visitors to the Hickory Creek Campground can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, and relaxing. It homes a wide variety of wildlife and often displays beautiful, colorful sunsets that light up the skies. This location also lends itself to shooting beautiful landscape photos and many photographers visit here for those reasons.
There are also many opportunities for people to go on hikes or bikes with over 50 miles of scenic trails and paved surroundings. Horse riding is also available and is a marvelous way to see whats on offer.
The Hickory Creek Campground houses 121 sites with full electrical hookups. The campground offers a shower station, flushing toilets, a dump station, a boat ramp, a playground, as well as pay phones. The campground also has approximately 10 Primitive Walk-Ins with pit toilets at the price of $14 per night. There are other amenities available such as Grills and Amphitheaters.
The Hickory Creek Campground is available all year round, but visiting hours end at 9 pm. Gates open at 6 am every morning and the Gate Attendants are available between the times of 9 am and 9 pm. Pets are allowed and kept on a leash at all times. There is no special permit needed but dogs must refrain from the swimming pool areas and sanitary areas except for guide dogs and service dogs.
