Description

The Kirby Landing Campground is everything that one would need when going for a trip with their friends and family. Located in the beautiful Pike County, this gorgeous camping ground has ample space for large groups of people and offers a range of outdoor activities for all age groups, both young and old. Because of the radius that this camping ground covers, the site is an excellent place for those who like to hike and explore the area in and among the vast forest.

One of the more defining things about this campsite is the kind of trees that grow here. The campground is known for its lush greenery and is filled with different types of pine and gum trees. Spring is the best time of the year to visit this camping ground because of the temperature that you can bask in. The campsite, however, is not ideal during peak summer or winter, since it tends to experience harsher temperatures.

There is also a variety of wildlife found nearby, including white-tailed deer, geese, wild turkey, southern bald eagles, and songbirds. Bald eagles are an attraction for visitors each winter.

Because of the large area that this campsite spans over, the terrain tends to change as you delve deeper into the grounds. To start out, the grounds have a beautiful lake that is brilliant for any kind of water sports. The lake also has abundant fish, making this a good fishing spot. The campsite also permits hunting and has facilities for those who like to participate in this sport.

One of the drawbacks about the campsite is that off-road vehicles are not allowed, which means that campers need to walk on foot to get to their designated sites. The forests are also incredibly dense, which makes them slightly unsafe to traverse through at nightly hours.

The campground asks that you keep your pupper leashed at all times during your stay, and that you do not bring them along when you go to the designated swimming areas. It is also always a good idea to bring poop bags to clean up after your pooch while here.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
