Description

Found in the gorgeous Ozark Mountains of northern Arkansas, Narrows campground is a perfect spot to bring your family for an overnight excursion. There are several opportunities for activities like hiking and swimming, in addition to being quite dog-friendly.

There are two trails that wind through and around Narrows, both of which are open to daytrippers and overnight guests alike. The first of these is the Buckeye Trail, a highly accessible trail. This 1.5-mile loop caters to guests with disabilities, as well as children and the elderly, with benches and plenty of shade in case visitors might need a break. The second of these trails is Mossy Bluff, a 2-mile round trip trek that provides several rocky overlooks showcasing the adjacent Little Red River. At the halfway point, guests on this trail are treated to a small weather shelter that provides 360-degree views of the surrounding scenery. Dogs can be brought along on these trails, provided guests keep them on some sort of restraint and clean up any messes they might leave on the ground.

Narrows campground contains 59 sites in total, all of which come standard with electrical hookups in addition to fire rings and picnic tables. The campground itself offers both flush and vaulted toilets, as well as shower facilities and a centrally located dump station for recreational vehicles or pop-up trailers. Canines are welcome to spend the evening as long as they're on a leash.

A boat ramp is located in Narrows along the shore of Greers Ferry Lake, available to all overnight guests free of charge. The state requires that any would-be boaters have up-to-date registration stickers displayed before entering the waters. With over 30,000 acres of water here, boats of all shapes and sizes are welcome. The Greers Ferry Lake Marina is found just a couple miles south of Narrows, at which guests can refuel or pick up some last-minute snacks or other essentials. Feel free to take Fido on a boat trip, as long as they stay leashed up and out of any indoor public areas around the marina.

Any costs listed on this page refer to overnight stays within Narrows and do not reflect the additional costs associated with entry into the surrounding park.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
