Oak Grove Campground is a camping site that has been gaining popularity over the past few years because of the wide, rolling landscape that encompasses this beautiful region. The campsite is located along the Rolling Fork River and is a place that was created after a nearby dam was constructed in 1977. The lake, which was once the main water source for the people in the area, has now become one of the most popular recreational spots in the area. The lake covers over thirty-two miles while the landscape spans 8,700 acres.
One of the most popular activities that people like to engage in while at the Oak Grover Camping Grounds is fishing. Because of the abundant marine life that is present in these waters, fishing has become one of the main reasons why people come here the whole year-round. The lake is known for its large variety of fish, some of which include different types of bass, flatheads, and also catfish. There are also newer kinds of hybrid fish which have been bred in these waters by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. So, the keen fisherman will have a variety of chances to catch the fish of the day.Â
Hunting is another sport that campers can partake in while they are on the camping grounds. The campground has specifically designated areas for those who want to engage in this sport. There are several different species of animals that one can find in this area, many of which make for fine hunting specimens.Â
While Oak Grove Campgrounds are well equipped with all that you would need to have a good camping experience, they have very few sites that one can set up on. There are a total of thirty give camping sites, and attaining a site is on a first come, first serve basis. Dogs are also allowed but must be on a leash. It's very doubtful that you will find poop bags, so be sure to bring your own and leave your site as you found it.
