Shady Acres Campground

Located in the Mobile Bay area of Alabama is a popular campground area called Shady Acres Campground. This campground, located just half a mile off Interstate 10, is both a convenient stop for those driving through and a wonderful destination to set up shop for a few days. Shady Acre Campground is primarily a trailer and RV campground and offers 82 large, pull-thru and pull-in sites so any size of trailer can be accommodated. 

The scenery is quiet, clean, and shady, sitting on the serene Dog River. Speaking of dogs, your pupper is surely welcome at Shady Acre, with plenty of greenery for them to prance around on, as well as do their business. Shady Acres offers numerous amenities including access to free WiFi, cable and TV, and a library work-space with a free book exchange. There are showers and bathroom facilities, as well as laundry facilities. 

Take advantage of the Dog River and provided boat ramp during your camping adventure, by taking a boat out onto the water. Go for a pretty boat ride or maybe try your hand at fishing any of the various fish that call Dog River home. Some of these include Striped Bass, Bream, Catfish, Redfish, Gar, and Speckled Trout. The campground is also just minutes away from the open water of the Gulf of Mexico, where you can sail and open-sea fish year round. Another activity that visitors often engage in is bird watching, especially during the Spring and Fall when birds migrate down to the Gulf of Mexico from their northern dwellings. 

Along with its amenities, Shady Acre Campground is conveniently located near many attractions. Mobile, Alabama, is most known for the USS Alabama Battleship, which is just a ten-minute drive away from the campground. Another popular attraction of Mobile is the Bellingrath Gardens, which are just a mere 30 minutes away from Shady Acre. It's also around 25 minutes away from the regional airport and under an hour drive from Dauphin Island and other Gulf Shore areas.
