Description

Starkey Campground near Lake Beaver and in Northwest Arkansas’ Ozark Mountains is an amazing place for people with RVs and dogs. The 449 miles of shoreline of Beaver Lake provides the campground with beautiful views. There are 23 sites available, all of them with electric hookups. Some of these even have water and sewer. Enjoying a comfortable camp life to the fullest is easy here.

It’s a good idea to book a picnic shelter before you arrive. Also, pack some insect spray as you and your dog may have to deal with some flies and ticks. With the right preparation, you can have a lot of fun sheltered from the intense Arkansas sun. They don’t sell firewood at Starkey but you can find plenty on your own. Some people leave their dogs off leashes, but it’s best that you keep yours on a leash. Among other facilities, the campground has water and electric hookups, vault toilets, hot showers, and fire rings.

The beach area is quite beautiful and the water is as clean and clear as it gets. You will enjoy sailing and fishing at this campground. You can also choose to have a pizza out on the deck and relax. Thanks to Beaver Lake, which is an amazing gem in Ozarks country, Starkey Campground offers an amazing experience. Some visitors also report how great it was not to have boat congestion even on a June Saturday. Up to 8 people are allowed per site.

You can get camping supplies from the many marinas nearby, from fuel to groceries and boat rentals to fishing guides. You can bring your RV, tents or motorhome with Fido to the campground. It’s a family friendly and dog friendly place, provided everyone watches and cleans up after their pets. The good job done by the Corps of Engineers that maintains the campgrounds and beaches translates into an overall excellent experience for campers.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
