The Old Barn Resort

If you're looking for somewhere to camp and want plenty of activities to keep you busy, look no further than Preston, Minnesota's The Old Barn Resort! This campground has tent sites, RV sites, and an on-site hostel. No matter what kind of camping you want to do, rates are affordable, starting at just $26 per night in the off-season and $37 per night during the summer. 

You definitely won't get bored while camping out at The Old Barn. During the summer, enjoy going for a tube ride down an actual lazy river. There's also an indoor pool that's open most of the year. If water isn't your thing, there's also a bike trail and, of course, an on-site golf course. Hungry? Head over to The Old Barn restaurant and bar, which visitors say has excellent food and friendly service.

What would a camping trip be without your furry friend, though? Fido is welcome to join you at any campsite, but they're not allowed in the restaurant or the hostel. There are also some simple rules you'll need to follow. The Old Barn Resort staff asks that you keep your dog on a leash that's no longer than six feet. You'll also need to clean up any mess your pooch makes. Aggressive dogs are not allowed, but there are no bans on any breed in particular. 

While there are many great things about Old Barn Resort, you might want to know that cell phone reception might be an issue here. Verizon customers report great service, while AT&T customers say that service is practically non-existent. WiFi isn't available at the campsites, but if you don't mind going to the main building, called "The Barn", you'll find WiFi there. If you need constant connectivity, this might not be the place for you.
