Get some fresh air with your pooch on the beautiful hiking trails of Arroyo Park. This pawsome park is located in the South Neighborhood off Chuckanut Drive on Old Samish Road. The best thing about this place is that dogs are welcome to hike these trails without a leash. Hiking without a leash? Your doggo will be in heaven!
Arroyo Park has a small network of trails that weave
through lovely wooded terrain. Chuckanut Creek adds to the park’s beauty and gives
your pal a place to splash around. There is even a trail that leads to a woofderful
waterfall where you and your doggo can take a furrific photo together. The park
is close to town to make a quick trip worthwhile. Even though you can hear a bit of the nearby freeway traffic, you
and your pooch will still feel miles away as you hike through the thick forest.
It is impawtant to remember that the area
is not fenced and dogs must be under voice control at all times. Trails are shared
with joggers, bikers, and sometimes strollers, so be sure to leash your pup if any conflicts arise. Help your pup mind their manners and yield to oncoming
traffic, and be mindful of wildlife. Bring some clean-up bags and pick up whatever
your pup puts down, and always have plenty of water on hand for both you and
your beloved pup.
Arroyo Park does not have any amenities as it has been
intentionally kept rustic. It does connect to the the larger network of the
Chuckanut Mountain trails, which are not off leash. If your pup hasn’t had
enough exercise and wants to keep going, continue your walk on one of these
trails with the leash on. They will be tuckered out in no
time.
Your pup will agree- an afternoon at Arroyo Park is time
well spent!
