Though some dog parks do include a section for use by small, senior, or shy dogs, Behnke Memorial Dog Park does not have one at this time. However, dogs of all sizes and breeds are welcome to enjoy the large enclosure at this beautiful park. To make certain no accidents or injuries occur, owners should be sure to carry a leash with them at all times.
Behnke Memorial Park offers access to its grounds at no cost to the public. The dog playground section is equipped with all of the things Fido and his family could need for a day of fun at the park. Housed on the premises are benches in areas with multiple shade trees. There are also picnic areas where families can enjoy a leisurely lunch on the grounds.
For use by the dogs, there is water provided on the grounds as well as fire hydrants and agility equipment. The enclosed area encompasses one acre of land, providing ample grassy space for dogs to explore and get in a vigorous run. Though access to this beloved dog park is free of charge, donations are gratefully accepted. All monies are earmarked towards park improvements and regular maintenance.
Poop bags are provided on the premises. The responsibility for all clean up is mandated to the owners of the dogs visiting Behnke Memorial Dog Park. Park officials appreciate all owner cooperation in helping them to maintain a safe and clean park space for all to enjoy. There are no public bathrooms available at this park.
In accordance with Michigan by-laws, all Pit Bulls or Pit Bull-type dogs are required to be muzzled in all public places. All dogs visiting Behnke Memorial Dog Park are required to be up to date on vaccinations as well as licensed with their city. For a day of fun at a great dog park, bring Fido to Behnke Memorial Dog Park!
