Both parts of the Silver Lake State Park are quite large in comparison to the average dog park. This park receives a great deal of traffic and makes for a good place for your canine to play with other and wear themselves out. This park also hosts a variety of amenities that you might find at other dog parks. A large pavilion covers a few picnic tables and produces a good amount of shade and shelter from the elements.
This pavilion is somewhat redundant as the Silver Lake State Park is littered with large trees with massive canopies of leaves that produce ample shade during the spring and summer months. However, most of the seating is placed under this pavilion, with just a few benches placed at the base of trees in the park.
There is a water feature at this park for your canine to play in. There is also running water in the form of a water hose so you and your canine can stay hydrated while you are at this dog park, but remember to bring your bowl. The name of this park can be slightly misleading.
There is a lake at this location which you can visually see from the fenced area of the dog park, great for aesthetic purposes, though it is not a lake you can bring your canine in and there is no waterfront access from the fenced sections. However; overall, Silver Lake State Park makes for a great park to bring an energetic canine to wear them out.
