Other on-site amenities include picnic areas as well as lakes that are conducive to swimming, sailing, kayaking, and other water sports. There is also a golf course and plenty of wooded trails to explore. There is not a designated dog play space at Brighton Recreation Area; however, this park and campground are dog-friendly.
In accordance with Michigan law, dogs may join their owners on the trails and in most areas of the Brighton Recreation Area so long as they remain on a lead of no more than six feet in length. Dogs are permitted on the shoreline of Brighton Recreation Area's beach but are to be leashed even when enjoying the cool, crisp waters of Bishop Lake.
There are no on-site amenities for dogs available at this park. To ensure Fido has access to a drink when needed. Owners must bring water with them. Poop bags are not supplied, but it is each owner's responsibility to clean up after their pets and properly dispose of their waste materials. This is a critical part of maintaining the park's beauty and hygienic standards.
Brighton Recreation Area is an ideal spot for a picnic lunch on the grounds. Families can enjoy a light snack or meal together in the on-site picnic areas and bathrooms are available for public use. Access to Brighton Recreation Area is provided to all members of the public at no cost. Dogs visiting the park are to be current on all vaccinations. In addition to this, a city dog license is mandatory.
