The Challenger Playlot Dog Park is a fenced-in area where your dog can run, jump, and play. It has nearby parking that is run by parking meters so you need to bring some change. The location is convenient and close to the train. The spacious area has a variety of terrains such as grass, dirt, and pavement. This is excellent for dogs as they run around using their energy.Â
This park is the perfect size to play fetch with your dog. It is enclosed and safe for your dog to run as far as he wants without you worrying if he will escape after he catches the ball in his mouth. The park has a water fountain for the dogs but its best to bring bottled water and a portable dog bowl in case it’s not working properly. The park is clean and encourages pet parents to clean up after your dog immediately.Â
Bring along a few toys to play fetch but make sure you don’t bring your dog’s favorite toy. Sometimes it can lead to aggression towards other dogs that want to play with the toy also. If your dog gets involved in any type of aggression, it is best to remove him and go back another day. All dogs that play at the park need to be vaccinated and licensed. Pet parents need to keep their dogs at home if they are sick.Â
Owners need to accompany their dog at all times while at the park. They need to keep the leash on until you fully enter the dog park area. A train travels near the park and makes quite a bit of noise so if your dog is scared of loud noises, you might need to leave the park early. There is also a cemetery located nearby. If you do not like being around that type of thing it might make you feel a bit uneasy. Overall, the park is great and the dogs love it.Â
