While the enclosure is a designated off-leash zone, dogs are required to remain on a leash when going to and from the play space. In addition to this, owners are asked to keep a leash with them at all times in case of an emergency and to keep their dogs on a lead when in other areas of the park. A permit is required to access this dedicated dog facility. Permits cost $5 and can be obtained at a number of locations throughout the city. Proof of vaccinations and city licensing are required to obtain a dog park permit. Permits are valid for one year of use.
This pristine park space is maintained by a volunteer community group known as the South Loop Dog Park Cooperative. This body of dog lovers is passionate about providing quality play spaces which encourage proper socialization and off-leash dog play. The dog run area of the park is equipped with a water fountain to ensure that Fido's hydration needs are met during his visit to this doggy play haven.
It is not known if bathrooms are available on-site for public use. Complimentary poop bags are provided in various areas of the park. Owners are asked to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste materials to help preserve the cleanliness of this family favorite play space. For a great time at a historic metropolitan park, take Fido and the family to Grant Bark Park!
