Noethling Playlot Dog Park ("Wiggly Field")

The Noethling Playlot Dog Park is a part of the Lincoln Park community, established in April 1997 as Chicago’s first official dog exercise and play area. This fenced-in off-leash dog sector is managed by the Chicago Park District and represents a spacious and friendly community of dog-lovers to all residents.

Although the official name of this area is Noethling Playlot Dog Park, Chicago locals regularly refer to it as the “Wiggly Field." Since 1970, the park has undergone multiple renewal efforts, in an attempt to reshape its previous years of decline. As a result, Wiggly Field has constantly improved its appearance and facilities through grant funds obtained by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Today, Noethling Playlot Dog Park offers all visitors and their pets plenty of asphalt-surfaced play areas as well as a doggie-drinking fountain, shaded zones, planters, walks, and an extra fenced in run, which can be used in case dogs need a timeout. The private property also features plenty of garbage cans, so that owners can easily clean up after their pets and maintain the location in pristine condition.

To access the park, owners need to be aware of the fact that the property is entirely enclosed with double-gated entryways. At the same time, all owners need to bring their pups to a participating vet, in order to get registered to use this Chicago park. 

The annual permits cost $5 per dog and they are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance.
