Crockett Dog Park, Dallas, TX

In December 2021, old Crockett Park went to the dogs, in the best way "pawssible"! It was renovated into a brand new dog park. The park is 1.25 acres, and within an easy walking distance from many local residential areas. It’s the perfect little dog park for people and pups of Old East Dallas! 

You should be able to find plenty of street parking nearby, or you can always leave your car in the lot at Buckner Samuell Park across the street and enjoy both spaces. Between both parks, there is truly something for everyone in the family. 

The Crockett Dog Park has space for doggos of all shapes and sizes, with separate large and small dog areas to ensure everyone has the right sized play pals. Each enclosure features gated entries, and there's mesh fencing in the small dog paddock to prevent escapes from your little Houdini. On especially hot Dallas days, your pup will be grateful for the big shady trees and water bowls.

The city did a good job making this park easy on the eyes, with ornamental trees, shrubs and fences, concrete sidewalks, grass terrains, new site lighting, and a central plaza with a shaded pavilion. There are plenty of benches and drinking fountains for the humans, so pet parents can kick back and watch their puppers burn off some energy. And pet waste stations make it easy to leave nothing behind with clean-up bags on hand. 

Be sure to remember proper dog park "pettiquette" by always keeping an eye on your dog, as well as keeping them leashed when entering and exiting the fenced enclosures, and anywhere outside of them.
