D.O.G.S of Vernon

Dog Owners Gathering Society (D.O.G.S.) of Vernon is a dedicated dog facility in Vernon, New Jersey. The vision of a group of like-minded community volunteers who wanted to provide a safe place for off-leash play and appropriate socialization, D.O.G.S. of Vernon, also known as Vernon Dog Park, came into being in 2007. 

This beloved dog playground offers a fully fenced in run for dogs to enjoy. It's not known if there is a separate enclosure for use by small, elderly, or timid dogs. However, all dogs may freely enjoy the one on-premise play space. To ensure the safety of all dogs, owners are asked to actively monitor all dog play. Ready access to a leash is also mandatory in case it is needed.

D.O.G.S of Vernon is public property, and park officials proudly offer entrance to their facility at no cost to people and their pooches. Part of the founding group's mandate is to offer a dog play area that is open to the public, and that is solely funded by fundraising and donations for generous dog lovers. 

With this in mind, donated monies are gratefully accepted with all funds being earmarked for park maintenance or future improvements. There is plentiful seating in areas which offer lots of shade, providing a haven for owners to relax while their dogs play. Water access is not available on the grounds nor are there any public bathrooms. 

Owners must bring drinking water and poop bags with them to park. It is the responsibility of all owners to clean up after their dogs. D.O.G.S. of Vernon asks that there be no more than two dogs per handler at one time in the dog park. Additionally, choke, prong, and spike collars are not permitted. 

All dogs have to be current on vaccinations and must bear both a rabies tag and a city dog license tag on their collars. D.O.G.S. of Vernon strictly prohibits the following items from the premises: rawhides, treats, food, alcohol, and cigarettes.
