Forester County Park is located along the beautiful shoreline of Lake Huron and is set upon 68 acres.Â
The park offers nearly 200 camping sites, shower facilities that are handicap accessible, a park store, picnic areas, hiking trails, playgrounds, WiFi, ball courts and, a scenic beach. Our furry friends are not permitted on the beach, but the park offers enough space to enjoy the day. Pine trees grow right up next to the beach, providing shade. Be sure to catch one of the area’s beautiful sunrises or sunsets!
Additionally, each weekend through the summer, the park hosts hymn sings for campers and visitors. Other events throughout the year include a carnival weekend and holiday festivities.Â
If you happen to visit in the winter, rather than the summer, you’ll still find that the park is beautifully situated, receiving a fair amount of snow that makes for a picturesque and unique scene.
The park itself is very family-friendly, with many families traveling to Forester County Park for reunions and remote getaways. The facilities are updated and clean and the staff is very highly regarded by visitors who frequent the beach and park year after year. Picnic tables and a family-friendly environment offer the perfect outing for anyone to enjoy with their pup.Â
It is important to note that a leash of six feet or less is required while walking with your dog. Other restrictions include no glass containers on the beach, no children under 18 unaccompanied by an adult and no disorderly conduct.Â
The park is free to all, unless you are hosting an event, in which case facility rates start at $15 per day. As always, remember doggie bags and some cool water for your pup. This park is one to check out!
