Fort Greene Park

Fort Greene Park is a beautiful 30-acre park that has tons of great activities for dogs and their owners. This pawesome Brooklyn park is the perfect place to spend the day with your furry best friend!

One of the things Fort Greene Park is most famous for is its history. During the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, the area was home to an important fort. Today, there are still many historical monuments and statues to commemorate the events that happened here. The most famous of these monuments is the Prison Ship Martyrs’ Monument that sits at the top of a granite staircase, and features a 149-foot tall Doric column with a bronze brazier on top. The monument can be seen from any corner of the park.

Fort Greene Park also has plenty of other amenities for you and your pup to enjoy. The park is home to a basketball court, a playground, and the lovely Revolutionary Garden. There are also lots of open green spaces where you can relax and have a picnic with your pup. If you need to clean up after your dog, doggy bags are available in the park. There are also water fountains throughout the park—just be sure to bring your pup’s water bowl with you.

If your dog loves playing off-leash, you’re in luck! Pups are welcome to go off-leash after 9 PM and before 9 AM in every part of the park except for the playground, tennis court, and any lawns with posted signs. Just be sure to keep your dog under voice control since the off-leash areas aren’t fenced.
