Home of Motown music, Ford cars and Hockeytown, Detroit has put a lot on the map. And lucky for local pups, this busy city has a place just for them in the middle of it all! Downtown pooches with the need to socialize flock to the Grand Circus Dog Park for a day of free off-leash fun!
While sports fans know Grand Circus Park for its prime location near Comerica Park and Ford Field, in 2014, the park went to the dogs! You can find this fenced-in dog park in the northeast section of Grand Circus. The double-gated entry provides extra safety, while the open space welcomes all sizes of dogs to mix and mingle. Very small dogs, however, may be able to fit through the fencing, so be cautious if you have a tiny pup.
Your dog will have a blast cavorting with local furiends, and you can watch all the action from tables and chairs scattered throughout. With a terrain of dirt and turf, its easy on the paws. Shade is provided by several trees, and a water spigot and bowls are available in the summer for thirsty pups. Bring your own water during the cold winter months. Clean-up bags and trash cans are on site to help you promptly pick up after your furry pal and keep the space clean.
This community driven dog hot spot often hosts dog pawties and events, such as pool parties, Halloween bashes and even a dog prom! Events are posted on the entry gates. New and fun amenities are also brought in for the seasons, such as hay bales to play on in the fall.
Before bringing your pup to this furbulous park, be sure they are licensed, fully vaccinated and wearing appropriate tags on their collars. Always keep your dog leashed when entering and exiting the dog park, and everywhere outside of it.
For a truly puptastic afternoon that will get your dog's tail wagging, head to the Grand Circus Dog Park today!
