Located in south central Kentucky, the Green River Lake State Park is a recreational treasure that has something for everyone, including four-legged visitors! This 1,331-acre park offers a myriad of activities and attractions for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, including an 8,200-acre lake that's pawfect for water sports.
Explore beautiful Green River Lake with Fido by going on a relaxing boat ride. It is unknown if dogs are allowed on rental boats, but don't miss the chance to head out into the emerald green water if they are, or if you have your own watercraft! The marina offers 200 covered slips and is open from March through November.
Puppers who love to hike will have a furrific time on the park's 28 miles of trails, which range from easy to difficult. For a leisurely stroll, hit the 2-mile North Trail. This route begins near the park office and splits into three trails at the end, giving you and your pooch the option to extend your hike. If you and Fido are up for a challenge, the Devils Canyon and Lindsey-Wilson Trails should give you a good workout. Note that you'll be sharing the paths with mountain bikers, horseback riders, and other hikers, so always practice good trail petiquette by keeping your furry pal on a leash. Also, don't forget to carry doggie waste bags.
For overnight accommodations, the park offers a 157-site RV campground where you and your pup can wind down at the end of a fun day—but make sure Fido stays leashed! Amenities include a grocery, a dump station, a laundry facility, restrooms, three central service buildings with showers, and Wi-Fi. Primitive tent and overflow camping are also available.
Other activities that can be enjoyed at the park include birdwatching, basketball, picnicking, and miniature golf. For a pawsome, dog-friendly vacation spot in the Campbellsville area, look no further than the Green River Lake State Park!
