Grosse Pointe Shores Dog Park

Situated on the corner of Vernier and Lake Shore Drive in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan is a small plot of land roughly the size of a home. The park does not have a name and resides on a bustling intersection. The city frequently manicures the grass, which happens to be a flat surface. There is just the right amount of trees if the pup needs shade during a long walk. 

This park is no frills so do not expect to see a large group of dogs. In fact, you are likely not going to see many people here unless it is for a short period. There is one bench facing Lake Shore Drive so take a rest there if Fido likes watching the cars drive by. If this park is your destination, bring a couple of chairs or blanket to sit on while relaxing in the sun. 

It is an excellent place to read a book while your dog chews on some toys. Since the park is located on a busy intersection, please keep your dog on a leash. The Grosse Pointe Shores Dog Park does not have fencing or any enclosures. The space is so small that even tennis balls inadvertently roll into traffic while playing fetch. Keep your dog nearby by holding onto the leash or tethering it to the ground. 

Do not forget to check out the scenery while walking down Lake Shore Drive. It is home to many historic mansions from the Ford, Dodge, and several other prominent families. What is even cooler is that the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club is directly across the street on Lake Shore. Continue walking, and you will run into miles of lakefront and a gentle breeze. 

There are no specifically laid out rules at the Grosse Pointe Shores Dog Park other than to use your best judgment. But, you should bring your own water because there is none available.
