Got a hiker pup? The park's 8 trails range from an easy .25 miles to a moderate 2.5 miles, and travel through various terrain from the campgrounds to the nature preserves. If you are a biker, there are also 2 mountain bike trails, just be sure if your pup accompanies you that they stay on leash. For the water lovers, there's a boat ramp on the river. Cast a line or take a spin in the water with your pup. With an on site swimming pool, visiting families can get a splash in, but note that dogs are prohibited in this area. Picnic tables and shelters are scattered throughout, so bring a snack or meal to enjoy.Ā For the campers out there, check out one of the 200 campsites that offer electric to extend your adventure. Cabins are also available, but it is unclear if they are dog-friendly.
Be sure to keep your dogĀ on a lead of no greater than six feetĀ at all times in this furbulous state park. While camping, your dog will need to be in the tent with you or in a vehicle overnight. Restrooms for the humans are located throughout the park where you can get water for your thirsty pup. Water bottles and a bowl are helpful. Have plenty of clean-up bags on hand, and always stoop and scoop anywhere in the park.
Indiana visitors to the park will need to pay a $7 daily fee for entrance, or $50 for an annual pass good for all Indiana state parks. Non-resident passes are $9 for the day, or $70 for an annual pass. Campsites and cabins can be reserved and do carry additional fees.
