Shamrock Dog Park

The Shamrock Dog Park is a beloved dog park located in Lafayette, IN. This dog park does require a permit to access. However, it does accommodate out of town guests, and people are passing through with day use passes. These day use passes are only $5 per canine, but they do require you to provide proof of vaccination in hand to get a pass. To acquire one of these, go to "Buckles Feed Depot" located at 220 S 4th Street.

Water is available at this park during the spring and summer months. It could freeze over the winter, so it is shut off during those times. During the spring and summer, the ground here usually stays pretty green and covered in grass. There are large trees that cast creates shadows on large portions of the park, which creates a good mix of sunny and shaded areas.

The Shamrock Dog Park is fenced and divided into two sections, one for small and one for large canines. Some benches and seating line the fence and can be found scattered through the park, but it is somewhat limited. If you'd like to be able to sit and relax awhile, you will likely want to bring your seating.

For an off-leash park in the city, the Shamrock Dog Park is quite large. Great large open fields mean you can play long-range games like fetch or frisbee with your canine here. The park is very well maintained, and the community here cleans up after their dogs and volunteers make efforts to clean the park after those that do not. Doggie bags and garbage cans are available throughout the park.

Water buckets are provided, and the access to the water is right inside the entrance. The Shamrock Dog Park could use some agility equipment or other ways for the canines to enjoy the park. For the most part, you could not ask for a better place you can bring your canine while you are in Lafayette.
