If your pup has been lying around all day, head over to Hunterdon County Dog Park so they can move around and get some much needed exercise. Situated on 1.75 acres of property, this beloved dog playground is a favorite destination for local pets and their parents. Â
Hunterdon County Dog Park is a public off leash area and there is no fee to use this pawsome park. Dogs must be on leash when entering or exiting the park. But once they are inside the gate, unclip the leash and let your pooch run free! There’s plenty of room for romping, wrestling, and chasing. Since the park is pupular canine destination, your pal will always have furry friends to play with.
The terrain is comprised of pristinely kept grass areas
combined with some dirt portions, providing excellent traction and surfaces that
are kind on canine joints. But if you happen to come after a rainstorm, bring a
towel so you can wipe the mud off your pup’s paws before the get back into your
car. Trees throughout the park give the canine visitors some shade. There is
not a separate enclosure for small, senior, or shy dogs. If you have a petite
pooch, make sure they feel comfortable rolling with the big dogs. As always,
please be attentive and monitor your pup and make sure they mind their manners.
There are a couple benches for two legged guests, so you
can sit back and relax while your dog gets tuckered out. Clean up bags are not
provided, so bring a couple and be sure to pick up after your fur baby. Since
drinking water is not available at the park, also pack some H2O and a bowl.
Your pal will be thirsty after all that playing! A trip to the Hunterdon County
Dog Park will make your pup one happy hound!
