Interlochen State Park

Interlochen State Park is 200 acres of gorgeous land and was the first state park in Michigan. The park has nearly 500 campsites for you and your furry friend to pitch a tent and camp at. It's located between Duck Lake and Green Lake and is located about 25 minutes south of Traverse City in beautiful Michigan. 

At the Interlochen State Park, you will find boating, fishing, beaches and swimming, picnic areas and shelters, electricity, bathrooms, sanitation stations, a store, and playgrounds. The activities at Interlochen State Park will keep you and your best friend busy for days.

There are four campgrounds at Interlochen State Park where you can take your pup camping with you. The campgrounds include rustic sites, modern sites, cabins, group areas, and rent-a-tent areas for you to choose from. Most campsites come with a fire ring, picnic table, and electricity. 

The prices range from $17-$86 for campsites, and the group areas require you to call the campgrounds for pricing. You can take up to two dogs with you to the campgrounds for a fee of $10 per dog per night. You can check availability and reserve your campsite online.

Your pup is not allowed in any buildings or cabins, including bathrooms, showers, or the store. Never leave your dog unattended and make sure your four-legged friend is always on a leash that is no longer than six feet. While there is a beach at this park, your pooch cannot bask in the sun or go swimming with you.

When you're packing your gear for your camping adventure, don't forget the plastic poop bags to clean up after your dog. Also, ensure that your dog is in good health and up to date on vaccinations. Your furry friend should also be obedient and respond to your command, and you should discourage barking or digging. When it is quiet hours at the park, make sure your dog follows them as you do.
