Some of the trees are young and do not provide too much shade, but there are a few mature ones that do. And the park also has a shaded area for you to rest in as your dog runs around. There are also bushes and rocks, so your dog can enjoy sniffing a lot of different scents while he is exploring the grounds.
Water is available, and in the summer you might even catch some plastic doggie pools on the cement for Fluffy to cool off in. This park also offers bags, so if you forget your poop bags, you will have a backup. The dog park is located in Karst Farm Park near the basketball courts and fields 11 and 12 and there is parking nearby. Toilets are not too far and are located near the Splash Pad.
To become a member, you must pay a $50 fee per household, which includes all canines. However, your dogs must have their Rabies, Bordetella, and DAPP vaccinations and be spayed or neutered. While children are great companions to dogs, children under 12 are not allowed in the park as a safety precaution, and children 12-15 must be supervised by an adult.
It is always good practice to make sure your dog can respond to your call and that he is not aggressive around other dogs. If you are unsure, please take your dog to the Karst Farm Dog Park at a slow time so he or she can become acclimated to park life.
