This fenced park for pooches has a separate area for small and large dogs, and this helps take the worry off pet parents’ heads that their little pooches will get trampled on or injured by bigger pooches unintentionally. This off-leash area has both macadam and grass areas, perfect for pooches to roll on, run around, and have an excellent time. Not only do they get to enjoy themselves, but they also get much-needed exercise.
Waste bags are provided, so pet parents need not burden themselves with bringing a few scooper bags to clean up after their dogs. The presence of waste bags is also a reminder that dog owners must clean up after their four-legged friends. There is a hiking trail where dogs are permitted on their leashes so you can take Spike on a walk with you and you can both enjoy the views together. The path is about five and a half miles long.
There features various opportunities to bike or swim and is often considered as one of the most enchanting places to take your four-legged best friend in northern New Jersey. There are restrooms provided in the Lewis Morris Community Park, but not in the dog park section. The park is open to everyone without any fees; however, dogs must wear their license and pet parents must have control of their dogs at all times.
The Lewis Morris Dog Park at the Old Army Area can be considered mediocre, but it is enough for people looking for a place where they can take their pups after a long day at work. There is nothing fancy, just the basics and just enough space for pooches to use their legs and use up their energy, so they don’t end up destroying shoes and other things at home. Nothing you would travel far for but great for someone who lives nearby.
