Luhr County Dog Park

The Luhr County Dog Park is an off-leash dog park in LaPorte, Indiana. This dog park is located in the Luhr County Park which is just under ninety acres of natural and unspoiled countryside. Residents and visitors to the park enjoy outdoor family time here by picnicking, hiking the trails, fishing and taking their pups to the off-leash area. 

Before pet parents can use the dog park facility, they need to get a permit from the on-site office. There are both daily and annual permits available for this dog park in LaPorte. A day pass for a resident carries a charge of $3 per dog, and for non-residents, the fee is $4. An annual permit is $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents. If applying for an annual permit for more than one dog there is an extra charge of $10 per dog. 

Pet owners who purchase an annual permit are required to have it with them when visiting the dog park as they may be asked to present it by park officials. The permit fees are divided between the parks department who spend it on dog park maintenance and the Small Animal Shelter where it assists with operational costs. 

This LaPorte dog park is a grass field which has been fenced with split trunk posts and wire mesh. The area is accessible to wildlife and pups should have up to date tick and flea treatment to ensure they don't catch any unwanted visitors. Owners need to be in full control of their pup when he or she is off-leash.
