This dog park is located in town near the intersection of E 12 Mile and North Campbell Road. For an in-town dog park, this quite a broad swath of land. You have tons of room to play with your canine here, including long-range games like fetch and frisbee (really just about as far as you could throw it).
The Mark Twain Dog Park does not have as many amenities as some of the other dog parks might. Dog bags and trash cans are available for public use. However, there is no running water at this location so you will need to bring your water for you and your canine to stay hydrated.
There is also no shade whatsoever at the Mark Twain Dog Park. In the spring and summer months, this park can get quite warm quickly. There are no structures build to provide shade, and the trees that line the park do not provide much shade, and only at certain times of day do they produce any.
The seating that would have once accompanied the baseball diamond is gone. No benches line the fence of the canine section, and no accommodation is placed around the park. The fence is in good shape and will keep in any that would try to escape. The grass is also well maintained and stays relatively short and in good form.
The town of Royal Oaks maintains the Mark Twain Dog Park. They do have a comprehensive set of rules and regulations posted at the entrance to the park. Your canine must be wearing tags that provide proof of vaccination. There is no separate small dog area to this park.
