This furbulous dog hot spot welcomes all sizes of pups, and offers two separate fenced-in sections, with a small swath of land between them. One is for small dogs under 35 lbs., while the other is for bigger dogs. Both sections have benches inside the gates and along the fence lines where you can watch your dog romp with furiends, or explore these large grassy areas. Right outside each gate, you'll find a drinking fountain for people and pups, so be sure to bring a bowl if you want to bring it inside the enclosure. The water is available during the spring and summer months, but is shut off in winter to prevent the lines from freezing, so be sure to bring your own during these times.
Though most of the terrain is grass, there are areas that can get worn down and become muddy in wet weather conditions. You may want to bring a towel to wipe off your dirty pooch before the ride home on rainy days. Always have clean-up bags on hand, and be sure to promptly pick up after your dog. Trash cans are located throughout for convenient disposal. Human restrooms and parking are close by too!
Once your dog has had their fill of the dog park, clip the leash back on to explore the rest of Mercer County Park. This large green space features tons of walking trails, sports fields, picnic areas and playgrounds, and even has a lake for water sports!
For a truly furbulous day in the great outdoors, you and your pup will love a trip to the Mercer County Dog Park!
