The Midtown Dog Park has been called several things in its lifetime. Since it's sponsored by Shinola, the large street clock the company installed that looms over it has earned it the name Shinola Clock Dog Park. It's also been called the Cass-Canfield Dog Park due to its location at the intersection of Cass and Canfield Avenues. But whatever you call it, one thing is for sure- this dog park in buzzing Midtown is the hottest canine spot in the neighborhood!
Hosting Wayne State University, the famous Detroit Institute of Arts, and plenty of art galleries, eateries and clubs, Midtown made sure to make room for its beloved pooches at this refurbished empty lot. With full fencing and a double-gated entry, your pup can safely frolic on the artificial turf while meeting new furiends. There's a small dog section for the tiny pups, and a tunnel for extra fun in the big dog section. Both areas feature picnic tables for pooch pawrents to relax at while keeping an eye on all the action. Clean-up bags and trash cans make picking up after your pup a breeze.
Water is available to fill up bowls and keep dogs hydrated, and hoses are in both sections in case anyone gets dirty. You'll need to bring your own water in the winter, though, as the pipes are shut down for the season. Big trees offer some shade from the sun, and toys are often left here for pups to play with. And with a free parking lot nearby, this park is pawfect for an afternoon adventure!
When getting ready to explore this dog park, be sure your dog is licensed, fully vaccinated and wearing appropriate tags on their collars. Keep the leash on your dog when entering and exiting the dog park for safety, and everywhere outside of it.
For a furbulous day out your dog won't soon forget, head to the Midtown Dog Park!
