Murray-Calloway County is home to nineteen thousand people, who all probably own a dog because…well, why wouldn’t you in such a beautiful city filled with sunshine and greenery?! The city is filled with things readily available to you and your furry friend, like the park that is largely known for being rated high by residents and tourists because of its endless amount of fun. (4.3 bones out of 5 bones).
This lovely off-leash park is fully-fenced which allows your furry four-footed family member to roam anywhere without the fear of losing them, it also has a drinking station for them to go to when they’re parched. The park offers agility equipment to strengthen your dog’s natural drive, provide exercise and help improve their attention.
Being able to bring your furbuddy to the park for training and know that they will be a better listener after leaving, is very satisfying and attainable. For those that may need a break from the sun that covers about two acres of land, there is a gazebo open to all owners. This also gives you the chance to meet and mingle while your pup does the same.
If you are worried your little dog might get lost in the crowd while they are playing with the big boys, don’t stress about it, as there is an area for dogs over 25 pounds, and under 25 pounds—makes the tug of war equal! The park also offers a clean up station! This can be used for dogs who are dirty and need to touch up before taking off to dinner, or those who might not be fully potty trained yet and need a quick wash.
Since the park is known to be filled with a lot of sun, it is important to remember to bring an umbrella to give your tired dog a break from all the running around they will be doing. Unfortunately, this park does not offer many shady spots, but lots of activity to wear them out, so come prepared, and you will be extremely happy with what it has to offer!
