Newaygo State Park

This park is one of the greatest attractions for recreational boaters and water skiers, as it has easy access to the Hardy Dam Pond. If you want to spend some quiet time fishing, the Muskegon River is home to many species, such as walleye, largemouth, and smallmouth bass. There is also a wide variety of panfish available in the river. 

There are two picking areas available at the Newaygo State Park so that you can enjoy a nice meal outdoors with your loved ones. The park also offers fantastic hiking opportunities. The best time to explore Newaygo State Park is in the fall when the leaves start to change colors. The scenery is indescribable.

The park is a great recreational place for dogs as well. However, it's important to remember that Fido must always wear a leash. This way you can ensure the safety of your pet and the well being of other people who are visiting. With a few exceptions, dogs are allowed on hiking trails, boats, and campsites and Newaygo State Park as long as they're supervised. 

It's best to check the trailhead signage to make sure Fido can keep you company on specific trails.  Make sure you always keep an eye on your furry companion.
