If your pooch is looking to expand their social circle, bring them to the Newport Dog Park to meet other puppers! Set within Providence Park, this off-leash space offers a secure environment where the city's canine community can run, play, and exercise sans constraints.
Free to residents and visitors alike, the Newport Dog Park consists of one fenced area for doggos of all sizes. If you have a large or medium-sized pup, make sure they don't bug the smaller canines so that everyone can have a pawsitive experience! The dog park is minimally furnished, with some benches for the humans and a wooded section where the dogs can sniff around and cool off. In case you forgot your doggie waste bags at home, there are mutt mitt dispensers scattered around the site. Trash cans, fresh water, and bowls are available as well. Because of the park's dirt surface, Fido might get dusty after an hour or so of playing and running around, so don't forget to bring wet wipes or a towel for cleanup.
See to it that your furry pal is licensed and current with all vaccinations before bringing them to the dog park. Dog ID tags must be worn at all times while you're there, and only unclip Fido's leash once you're inside the off-leash area. You may carry some small treats, but leave the dog food and chews at home. Note that it can be a little noisy since the park is located next to the highway, so you may have to stay close to your four-legged buddy to make sure they can hear you. Help keep the dog park safe, clean, and fun by practicing good petiquette!
For quality, off-leash time with your pup, you can't go wrong with the Newport Dog Park!
