If you’ve never gone to Parley’s Creek, you should start planning your next trip! This gorgeous area is known as Parley’s Historic Nature Park, one of the largest natural open spaces in Salt Lake Valley. This place was once unheard of but is quickly growing in popularity so go soon before there are lineups! It offers BMX biking, biking, trails, and dog walking.Â
It offers an off-leash area, so your puppy pal can go check out the other dogs and mark up their territory. The off-leash area is in select locations of the park; you can have your pup off leash on or near the main trail, your pup must be on a leash along Parley’s Trail. The designated off-leash areas are outlined when you enter the park, so no worries if you forget!Â
While off-leash may mean freedom for doggies, humans still should keep a close eye on them, especially if they are bathing in the creek, as there are strong currents there! There is a bridge overlooking the creek where you can stand and snap some photos of your doggy splashing around, or a trail nearby to rollerblade alongside your eager pup.Â
The off-leash area allows you to play an unlimited number of games with your furry friend, such as fetch, frisbee, or practicing tricks. However, the entire park is about 15 acres of land, which you probably won’t be able to see in one day, but you can try!Â
Luckily this park has no fee, so you can stop by as many times as you want without having to worry about it costing too much! Make sure you use the restrooms and eat prior to entering the park as this area has some rules to follow. Always remember to bring doodoo bags and dispose of them properly to maintain the cleanliness of the park.Â
