Description

The Paul Ruster Bark Park in Indianapolis sits inside the 100-acre city-run Paul Ruster Park. This fully-fenced doggy playground accommodates all sizes and breeds of pups, whether they want to wander and sniff, dash across the huge field, or play tag with the other furiendly pooches.

To find this doggy haven, just follow the road into Paul Ruster Park to the parking area that conveniently leads to the dog park gates. Here you'll have your choice of two quite large fenced in sections to let your pup loose in. Shade trees and benches are placed near the entrance so pup parents can relax while the pooches romp throughout this vast grassy space, and waste bags and trash receptacles are on site for easy clean-up. Doggos can bring their own toys and have a barking good time playing keep-away, but should be willing to share, too. There’s plenty of room for ball-fetching and frisbee-snagging in this pupperdise!

While this furbulous park offers a lot your canine pal will be barking for, it doesn't provide water, so be sure to bring some for you and Bosco. Because the dog area is mostly open to the sun, your pup may need some sunscreen on their nose, ear tips, and anyplace else their coat is thin on sunny days. Park rules prohibit food or treats in the Bark Park. Good manners are expected among canines and humans alike, so be sure your doggo practices furiendly park petiquette.

To access Paul Ruster Bark Park, you’ll need a Pooch Pass digital card to open the gates. Day passes can be purchased at World Sports Park at 1313 S. Post Road for $5 per dog per day. A yearly pass is $75 for one dog, and one or two canine siblings from the same household can visit this pawsome place for $37.50 each per year. Yearly passes are available at Broad Ripple Park, 5900 North High School Road, where special 6-month discounts are also available. And VIP passes allow access to the city’s three other dog parks! Pass purchases require proof of bordetella, rabies, distemper, and parvo vaccinations, along with a city dog registration.

If your pup still has some pep on their step after the Bark Park, clip the leash back on and explore the wooded trail and other puptasic areas of Paul Ruster Park!
