Smock Dog Park, Indianapolis, IN
Smock Dog Park is one of four Bark Parks in Indianapolis run by Indy Parks and Recreation. This open, grassy area offers "pawlenty" of room for your pup to blow off some steam. Pet parents looking to rest their feet after a good game of fetch will find a couple of benches dotted around the park.
Apart from that, the amenities are pretty bare-bones. There are no separate spaces for small and large dogs. Shade is limited to a few trees, so bring along plenty of water for you and your pooch, especially on hot days. The park can also get pretty muddy in places, so bring a towel to wipe your mutt's paws if you're visiting on a rainy day.
Be a courteous pup parent and practice good dog park etiquette while playing at Smock Dog Park. Clean up after your dog, and supervise them at all times. Keep your pup leashed until you're inside the fenced area.
Before you and your fur-baby can visit Smock Dog Park, you'll need to buy a Pooch Pass. This annual pass costs $75 for one dog, $115.50 for two dogs, and $150 for three dogs. You can also "pawchase" a day pass for $5.
You can buy a pooch pass from the Perry Park office. To sign up, you'll need to provide proof your pup is vaccinated against parvo, distemper, bordetella, and rabies. Dogs must be at least 4 months old to enter the park.
Pooch Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so grab one before they're gone! You can also get discounts on annual passes if purchased after June 1 and September 1. Replacement dog tags and access cards are $10.
